Day 8 at Otterbein

Hours: 7.5 Total Hours: 60

Jane was back today, so I started my day going over all the documents I had sent her the evening before. She asked for more charts, more marketing phrases, and a clearer message to the Maths department about how well they were doing.  She also showed me the new way the LibGuides are designed.

Back at my desk, I fixed some of the LibGuide links I had made for her Sociology LibGuide, and then added more tables to the Benchmark report, and better marketing phrases.

After lunch, I found and downloaded archivable copies of papers from one of our faculty, and sent an email about the ones I need to get directly from him.

I did a quick look at the New Items page on the website, the HTML code, and what would be needed to change it to XML so it can be RSS-able. I asked Jane to send me the code she uses, and the files from start to finish.

Next, I took a tour around the library, writing down what was on each floor. I then created listings and tables for a future Virtual Tour for the library website.

I did a little bit of work on the Collection Development before my meeting with Jane to discuss the week. We discussed how to find volunteers, and who to send the pre-survey out to, as I finished up for the week.
